CLINICAL CASE: Camouflaging a Caries Cleanout - Dr. Chi

Dental cavities, especially deep cavities, leave a pigmented layer that can affect the aesthetics of the rehabilitation.

The management of deep caries indicates to place a pulp protector that with the current materials allows to make up that unsightly pigmentation.

The procedure continues with a material such as glass ionomer as the base material that also helps camouflage the pigmentation.

It is also possible to use flowable resins as a pre-coat to the final restoration coat.

In this episode of Chairside Live, Dr. Chi utilizes Camouflage® Composite, a nanohybrid material with the ideal combination of esthetics and strength, on a decaying tooth #31.
